Use AssistCall with Gingr
AssistCall answers your business calls 24/7 and works alongside Gingr: forwarded calls get answered, booked or noted, with a summary of every call by email.
Gingr: Reservation, check-in, billing and client management software for dog daycares, boarding kennels, groomers and trainers.
Works alongside
Example call
A pet parent calls during evening pick-up to book boarding for two dogs over Thanksgiving. AssistCall takes her name, number, the dogs' names and the dates. Staff get the summary by email and enter the reservation in Gingr.
- Forward your daycare's front desk line to AssistCall during drop-off and pick-up rushes, when staff can't get to the phone.
- AssistCall answers questions about daycare rates, vaccine requirements and hours from your business details, takes boarding and daycare requests, and emails the summary and recording so staff can book in Gingr.
- Send AssistCall's message.taken events by webhook to your own endpoint, or to a Zapier, Make or n8n workflow that posts them to your team's Slack channel.
How it connects
- Call forwarding: Forward your business line to AssistCall when busy, after hours or always. Works with any carrier.
- Webhook: Signed JSON for every call, message and booking, sent to any HTTPS URL you choose.
About Gingr's API
- Self-serve API: you can create a key in your account
- Style: REST (JSON responses); requests are mostly POSTs with form parameters
- Authentication: Per-user API key created under Reports & More > Users > Edit User > API Keys, once the user has the Can Access API permission. Gingr doesn't say keys expire. To rotate a key, delete it and create a new one.
- On Zapier: no. On Make: no.
Gingr's help center says its public API is read-only. Most documented calls are POSTs to your account subdomain (https://{your_app}.gingrapp.com/api/v1/...) with the key sent as form data. AssistCall's live API calls send JSON or URL parameters, so AssistCall doesn't list live Gingr lookups. Gingr's own webhooks are set under Admin > Custom Configurations with a signature key. Gingr support doesn't help with API implementation. A third-party profile describes a newer API at api.gingr.io with an X-Api-Key header, which I couldn't confirm in Gingr's docs. I found no Gingr app on Zapier or Make.
Not included: no one-click Gingr app, no listing in Gingr's marketplace, no two-way sync, and no partnership with Gingr (Togetherwork).
