Use AssistCall with Authorize.net
AssistCall answers your business calls 24/7 and can send each call, message and booking to Authorize.net through Webhook, n8n.
Authorize.net: Authorize.net is Visa's payment gateway that small businesses use, through a merchant account, to accept card and eCheck payments online, in person and over the phone.
Connects
Example call
A customer calls about a charge on her card statement. AssistCall takes her name, number and the date of the charge, then emails the summary to billing. Staff look up the transaction in Authorize.net and call her back.
- When AssistCall captures a new customer, an n8n workflow creates a customer profile in Authorize.net's Customer Information Manager with their email and your customer ID, without any card details.
- Callers who want to pay or who have a question about a charge leave a message with their name, number and reason. AssistCall emails it to staff, who handle the payment through your usual process.
- Forward your office line to AssistCall when staff are busy, so billing calls are answered, recorded and summarized.
How it connects
- Webhook: Signed JSON for every call, message and booking, sent to any HTTPS URL you choose.
- n8n: Start an n8n workflow with a webhook node, then call the app with its node or an HTTP request.
- Call forwarding: Forward your business line to AssistCall when busy, after hours or always. Works with any carrier.
About Authorize.net's API
- Self-serve API: you can create a key in your account
- Style: JSON/XML API on a single endpoint, plus a Webhooks REST API
- Authentication: API Login ID and Transaction Key, which don't expire on their own. The main API takes them inside the request body; the Webhooks API takes them as HTTP Basic auth.
- On Zapier: no. On Make: no.
Merchants generate the API Login ID and Transaction Key in the Merchant Interface. The main API expects these credentials inside a merchantAuthentication object in the JSON body, not in a header, so AssistCall's live API lookup isn't a fit. Zapier says Authorize.net hasn't built a Zapier integration, and we found no official Make app. An n8n HTTP Request node can call the API. Webhooks cover customer profiles, payments, subscriptions and fraud events. AssistCall never takes card numbers by phone.
Not included: no one-click Authorize.net app, no listing in Authorize.net's marketplace, no two-way sync, and no partnership with Visa (Authorize.net).
