Use AssistCall with FreshBooks
AssistCall answers your business calls 24/7 and can send each call, message and booking to FreshBooks through Webhook, Zapier, Make, n8n.
FreshBooks: FreshBooks is cloud invoicing and accounting software for freelancers and service-based small businesses, with time tracking, estimates and online payments.
Connects
Example call
A prospective client calls about a website redesign. AssistCall takes her name, number and project details, a Zap adds her as a FreshBooks client, and the owner gets the summary by email.
- When AssistCall captures a lead, a Zap runs FreshBooks' Find or Create Client action, so new callers are ready to invoice.
- When AssistCall books a new job, a Zap uses Create Project to set up a FreshBooks project for that client, so the job's time and invoices stay together.
- Forward your phone to AssistCall while you're with clients, and get each call's summary, transcript and recording by email.
How it connects
- Webhook: Signed JSON for every call, message and booking, sent to any HTTPS URL you choose.
- Zapier: Send AssistCall events to a Zap (Webhooks by Zapier, Catch Hook), then use the app's Zapier actions. Needs a paid Zapier plan.
- Make: Start a Make scenario with a custom webhook and use the app's Make modules.
- n8n: Start an n8n workflow with a webhook node, then call the app with its node or an HTTP request.
- Call forwarding: Forward your business line to AssistCall when busy, after hours or always. Works with any carrier.
About FreshBooks's API
- Self-serve API: you can create a key in your account
- Style: REST (JSON)
- Authentication: OAuth 2.0 only. Access tokens expire after 12 hours. Refresh tokens don't expire but can be used only once.
- On Zapier: yes. On Make: yes.
Any FreshBooks user can register a developer app. The API only accepts OAuth 2.0 access tokens, which expire after 12 hours, so AssistCall's live API lookup (which uses one fixed token) can't call FreshBooks directly. FreshBooks webhooks cover clients, invoices, estimates, payments, projects and more. Use Zapier (17 triggers, 25 actions, 7 searches), Make's FreshBooks app, or n8n's HTTP Request node with an OAuth2 credential.
Not included: no one-click FreshBooks app, no listing in FreshBooks's marketplace, no two-way sync, and no partnership with FreshBooks.
