How it connects

About Stripe's API

Create a restricted key in the Stripe Dashboard with read access to Customers and Invoices, and save it in AssistCall as 'Authorization: Bearer rk_live_...'. Stripe's v1 API takes form-encoded request bodies, not JSON, so AssistCall's live lookups should use GET requests. For customer search, use GET /v1/customers/search with query=phone:"+1...". It's an exact match, so the phone numbers stored in Stripe need to be in the same format as caller ID. For invoices, use GET /v1/invoices?customer=...&status=open, or search by invoice number. Stripe rejects parameters it doesn't recognize, so switch off AssistCall's automatic caller_phone and call_id fields for these calls. New or changed records usually show up in search within a minute. Search endpoints are limited to 20 reads per second, and search isn't available to businesses in India.
