Use AssistCall with Wave
AssistCall answers your business calls 24/7 and can send each call, message and booking to Wave through Webhook, Live API actions, Zapier, Make, n8n.
Wave: Wave is accounting, invoicing and payments software for very small businesses and freelancers, with a free starter plan.
Connects
Example call
A homeowner calls for a gutter-cleaning quote while the owner is on a roof. AssistCall takes her name, number and email, and a Zap adds her as a Wave customer. The owner gets the summary by email and sends the invoice from Wave later.
- During a call, the receptionist creates a new caller as a Wave customer with a GraphQL customerCreate request, using your Full Access Token.
- When AssistCall captures a lead with an email address, a Zap runs Wave's Find or Create Customer action, so the caller is ready to invoice.
- Forward your phone to AssistCall while you're on a job, and get each call's summary, transcript and recording by email.
How it connects
- Webhook: Signed JSON for every call, message and booking, sent to any HTTPS URL you choose.
- Live API actions: During the call, the receptionist calls the app's API with your key to look up or create records.
- Zapier: Send AssistCall events to a Zap (Webhooks by Zapier, Catch Hook), then use the app's Zapier actions. Needs a paid Zapier plan.
- Make: Start a Make scenario with a custom webhook and use the app's Make modules.
- n8n: Start an n8n workflow with a webhook node, then call the app with its node or an HTTP request.
- Call forwarding: Forward your business line to AssistCall when busy, after hours or always. Works with any carrier.
About Wave's API
- Self-serve API: you can create a key in your account
- Style: GraphQL (single endpoint)
- Authentication: A Full Access Token for businesses in your own Wave account, sent as a Bearer token and valid until you revoke it. OAuth 2.0 is for published apps.
- On Zapier: yes. On Make: yes.
Wave's Developer Portal issues a Full Access Token for businesses in your own Wave account. Wave says that using a permanent token for your own account is free, and that OAuth apps can only connect businesses on a Pro or Wave Advisors subscription. The token has the same access as your Wave login, so keep it private. All calls go as POSTs to one GraphQL endpoint (https://gql.waveapps.com/graphql/public), which AssistCall's custom JSON body template supports. Test your query before going live. We found no webhooks in Wave's API documentation. Zapier's Wave app has New Customer and New Invoice triggers, plus Create Customer, Create Invoice, Record Sale and Find or Create Customer (by email). Make also has a Wave app. We could not open Wave's developer pages directly, so these details come from search excerpts of them.
Not included: no one-click Wave app, no listing in Wave's marketplace, no two-way sync, and no partnership with Wave Financial (H&R Block).
