Use AssistCall with Xero
AssistCall answers your business calls 24/7 and can send each call, message and booking to Xero through Webhook, Zapier, Make, n8n.
Xero: Xero is cloud accounting software for small businesses and their accountants, covering invoicing, bank reconciliation, bills and reporting.
Connects
Example call
A new client calls asking for a price on monthly bookkeeping. AssistCall takes his details, a Zap adds him as a contact in Xero, and the owner gets the summary by email with the contact ready for a quote.
- When AssistCall captures a new lead, a Zap runs Xero's Find or Create Contact action, so the caller is already in Xero when you send the quote or invoice.
- When a billing message comes in, a Zap uses Xero's Find Contact to look up the caller and sends your bookkeeper the message along with the matching contact.
- Forward your office line to AssistCall when you're busy, and get every call's summary, transcript and recording by email.
How it connects
- Webhook: Signed JSON for every call, message and booking, sent to any HTTPS URL you choose.
- Zapier: Send AssistCall events to a Zap (Webhooks by Zapier, Catch Hook), then use the app's Zapier actions. Needs a paid Zapier plan.
- Make: Start a Make scenario with a custom webhook and use the app's Make modules.
- n8n: Start an n8n workflow with a webhook node, then call the app with its node or an HTTP request.
- Call forwarding: Forward your business line to AssistCall when busy, after hours or always. Works with any carrier.
About Xero's API
- Self-serve API: you can create a key in your account
- Style: REST (JSON), Xero Accounting API
- Authentication: OAuth 2.0 only. Access tokens expire after 30 minutes, including tokens from paid custom connections, which use client credentials.
- On Zapier: yes. On Make: yes.
Xero's API only accepts OAuth 2.0 access tokens, which last 30 minutes, so AssistCall's live API lookup (which uses one fixed token) can't call Xero directly. That includes paid custom connections for a single organisation. Since 2 March 2026, Xero charges developers by tier, and the free Starter tier allows up to 5 connections. Webhooks cover contact and invoice events. The practical route is Zapier (18 triggers, 25 actions and 10 searches, including Find or Create Contact), Make's Xero app, or n8n's Xero node, all of which handle the OAuth sign-in for you.
Not included: no one-click Xero app, no listing in Xero's marketplace, no two-way sync, and no partnership with Xero Limited.
