Connects
Example call
A caller asks for pricing on a monthly maintenance plan. AssistCall takes his details and a Zap adds him as a Zoho Books customer. The owner gets the summary by email and sends the estimate from Zoho Books.
- When AssistCall captures a new lead, a Zap uses Zoho Books' Create Customer action to add the caller.
- When a caller asks for a quote, a Zap uses Create Estimate to draft an estimate for that customer with your standard service item, ready for you to review and send.
- Forward your office line to AssistCall after hours, and get every call's summary, transcript and recording by email.
How it connects
- Webhook: Signed JSON for every call, message and booking, sent to any HTTPS URL you choose.
- Zapier: Send AssistCall events to a Zap (Webhooks by Zapier, Catch Hook), then use the app's Zapier actions. Needs a paid Zapier plan.
- Make: Start a Make scenario with a custom webhook and use the app's Make modules.
- n8n: Start an n8n workflow with a webhook node, then call the app with its node or an HTTP request.
- Call forwarding: Forward your business line to AssistCall when busy, after hours or always. Works with any carrier.
About Zoho Books's API
- Self-serve API: you can create a key in your account
- Style: REST (JSON)
- Authentication: OAuth 2.0 only. Access tokens expire after 1 hour. Refresh tokens last until they're revoked.
- On Zapier: yes. On Make: yes.
A Zoho Books user can register a Self Client in the Zoho API Console. API calls still need OAuth access tokens that expire after an hour, so AssistCall's live API lookup (which uses one fixed token) can't call Zoho Books directly. Outgoing webhooks are set up as workflow rule actions, which need the Professional plan or higher, with up to 1,000 webhook calls a day. Zapier's Zoho Books app has New Customer and New Sales Invoice triggers, plus Create Customer, Create Estimate and Create Sales Invoice actions. Make has a Zoho Books app, and n8n can use its HTTP Request node with an OAuth2 credential.
Not included: no one-click Zoho Books app, no listing in Zoho Books's marketplace, no two-way sync, and no partnership with Zoho Corporation.
