Use AssistCall with 7shifts
AssistCall answers your business calls 24/7 and can send each call, message and booking to 7shifts through Zapier, Webhook, Live API actions, n8n.
7shifts: 7shifts is employee scheduling, time clock and team messaging software built for restaurants.
Connects
Example call
A server calls in sick. AssistCall finds her in 7shifts and reads tonight's 5pm-to-close shift. The manager gets an email with her name, the shift and the reason.
- When a staff member calls out sick, find them in 7shifts by name and read their next shift (List Users, then List Shifts), so the manager's message names the shift that needs cover
- Send AssistCall's message.taken event to an n8n workflow that pulls the caller's upcoming shifts from the 7shifts API and emails them to the manager
- Forward the restaurant line after hours so staff call-outs and vendor calls are recorded and summarized for the morning manager
How it connects
- Zapier: Send AssistCall events to a Zap (Webhooks by Zapier, Catch Hook), then use the app's Zapier actions. Needs a paid Zapier plan.
- Webhook: Signed JSON for every call, message and booking, sent to any HTTPS URL you choose.
- Live API actions: During the call, the receptionist calls the app's API with your key to look up or create records.
- n8n: Start an n8n workflow with a webhook node, then call the app with its node or an HTTP request.
- Call forwarding: Forward your business line to AssistCall when busy, after hours or always. Works with any carrier.
About 7shifts's API
- Self-serve API: you can create a key in your account
- Style: REST
- Authentication: Access token (Bearer) created in Company Settings > Developer Tools; OAuth for partner apps
- On Zapier: yes. On Make: no.
A company admin creates a long-lived access token under Company Settings > Developer Tools > Access Tokens. 7shifts says the token can do everything the API supports for one company. The docs we read don't mention a plan requirement, so check your plan. List Users can filter by name, and List Shifts can filter by user and start date. Zapier's 7shifts app has triggers and read-only lookups but no create actions, so a Zap can't write to 7shifts from an AssistCall event; use the API or n8n for that. We found no Make app.
Not included: no one-click 7shifts app, no listing in 7shifts's marketplace, no two-way sync, and no partnership with 7shifts.
