Connects
Example call
A caller asks if their pickup order is ready. AssistCall finds them by phone in Square, reads the order's fulfillment state and answers. The owner gets the call summary by email.
- When a call ends, add or update the caller in your Square customer directory with Zapier's Create Customer action, triggered by AssistCall's call.completed event
- During a call, search Square customers by phone with your personal access token so the receptionist can greet regulars by name
- During a call, search Square orders to tell a caller whether their pickup order is marked prepared
How it connects
- Webhook: Signed JSON for every call, message and booking, sent to any HTTPS URL you choose.
- Live API actions: During the call, the receptionist calls the app's API with your key to look up or create records.
- Zapier: Send AssistCall events to a Zap (Webhooks by Zapier, Catch Hook), then use the app's Zapier actions. Needs a paid Zapier plan.
- Make: Start a Make scenario with a custom webhook and use the app's Make modules.
- n8n: Start an n8n workflow with a webhook node, then call the app with its node or an HTTP request.
- Call forwarding: Forward your business line to AssistCall when busy, after hours or always. Works with any carrier.
About Square for Restaurants's API
- Self-serve API: you can create a key in your account
- Style: REST
- Authentication: Personal access token for your own account, or OAuth 2.0
- On Zapier: yes. On Make: yes.
Any seller can create an application in the Square Developer Console and copy a production personal access token. Square says this token is fine for production custom integrations that only access your own account. Webhook subscriptions are set up in the Developer Console and retried for up to 24 hours. Zapier's Square app includes Create Customer, Update Customer, Find Customer and Find Order. Make's Square app is maintained by Make.
