A client calls to book a 60-minute massage. The receptionist checks Acuity for open times and books Saturday at 11am. The therapist sees the appointment in Acuity, along with AssistCall's emailed call summary.

During a call, the receptionist checks open times for an appointment type in Acuity and books the caller through Acuity's API (Premium plan).
On Acuity plans without API access, a Make scenario books AssistCall appointments using Acuity's Check Available Times and Create Appointment modules.
After each call, Zapier's Add or Update Client action saves the caller to Acuity with their phone number and notes.

How it connects

Webhook: Signed JSON for every call, message and booking, sent to any HTTPS URL you choose.
Live API actions: During the call, the receptionist calls the app's API with your key to look up or create records.
Zapier: Send AssistCall events to a Zap (Webhooks by Zapier, Catch Hook), then use the app's Zapier actions. Needs a paid Zapier plan.
Make: Start a Make scenario with a custom webhook and use the app's Make modules.
n8n: Start an n8n workflow with a webhook node, then call the app with its node or an HTTP request.
Call forwarding: Forward your business line to AssistCall when busy, after hours or always. Works with any carrier.

Acuity's pricing page lists 'Custom API & CSS for Developers' on the Premium plan only. The User ID and API key are in Acuity's Integrations settings, under API. Webhooks fire on appointment scheduled, rescheduled, canceled and changed. They arrive as form-encoded POSTs signed with an HMAC of your API key (x-acuity-signature header).

Not included: no one-click Acuity Scheduling app, no listing in Acuity Scheduling's marketplace, no two-way sync, and no partnership with Squarespace.
