Use AssistCall with Google Calendar
AssistCall answers your business calls 24/7 and can send each call, message and booking to Google Calendar through Webhook, Zapier, Make, n8n.
Google Calendar: Google's online calendar, included with Gmail and Google Workspace, which many small businesses use to track appointments, jobs and staff schedules.
Connects
Example call
A caller asks for a Thursday 10am estimate. The receptionist takes the booking and AssistCall sends an appointment.booked event to Zapier, which creates the event in Google Calendar. The owner sees it on their phone, with the call summary in the event notes.
- When AssistCall books an appointment, a Zap uses Google Calendar's Create Detailed Event action to add it with the caller's name, number and reason.
- When a caller cancels on the phone, a Make scenario searches the calendar for the matching event and deletes it.
- When a caller leaves an urgent message, an n8n workflow puts a callback block on the owner's calendar with the message details.
How it connects
- Webhook: Signed JSON for every call, message and booking, sent to any HTTPS URL you choose.
- Zapier: Send AssistCall events to a Zap (Webhooks by Zapier, Catch Hook), then use the app's Zapier actions. Needs a paid Zapier plan.
- Make: Start a Make scenario with a custom webhook and use the app's Make modules.
- n8n: Start an n8n workflow with a webhook node, then call the app with its node or an HTTP request.
- Call forwarding: Forward your business line to AssistCall when busy, after hours or always. Works with any carrier.
About Google Calendar's API
- Self-serve API: you can create a key in your account
- Style: REST
- Authentication: OAuth 2.0 (API keys can only read public calendars)
- On Zapier: yes. On Make: yes.
Any Google account can create a Google Cloud project and OAuth client, and the API is free within Google's quotas. Private calendars need OAuth 2.0 access tokens, which expire, so AssistCall connects to Google Calendar through Zapier, Make or n8n instead of live lookups during a call. Push notifications go to an HTTPS address, and the channels have to be renewed by hand before they expire.
Not included: no one-click Google Calendar app, no listing in Google Calendar's marketplace, no two-way sync, and no partnership with Google.
