Connects

Example call

A caller says he was hurt in a car accident and wants a consultation. The receptionist takes his name, number and a short description and books a consult time. A Zap then creates the Clio contact and a calendar entry for the consult, and the attorney sees both in Clio, with the call summary also in their inbox.

How it connects

About Clio's API

Creating and managing developer applications requires admin access in Clio. Access tokens last 30 days, and refresh tokens do not expire. AssistCall stores a fixed token header, so a token used for live lookups has to be replaced before its 30 days run out. Rate limits apply per access token, and going over returns HTTP 429. Clio Manage webhooks cover matters, contacts, calendar entries, tasks, bills, documents and more. They are HMAC-signed and expire after at most 31 days unless renewed. Clio Grow's Lead Inbox API takes a nested JSON body, so sending leads into Grow goes through Zapier, Make or n8n rather than a direct live call. Make's app is named 'Clio Manage'.

Not included: no one-click Clio app, no listing in Clio's marketplace, no two-way sync, and no partnership with Clio.
