Connects
Example call
A caller wants to schedule a consult about a will. The receptionist checks Lawmatics by her phone number, finds no record, takes her details and books a consult. A Zap then creates the prospect and the appointment in Lawmatics, and the attorney sees both in the intake pipeline.
- During a live call, the receptionist looks up the caller with Lawmatics' find-by-phone endpoint and the firm's own access token, so it knows whether there is an existing contact or open matter.
- When the receptionist captures a new lead, a Zap creates a Matter (prospect) in Lawmatics so the firm's intake automations start.
- When a consult is booked, Zapier creates an Appointment in Lawmatics for that prospect.
How it connects
- Webhook: Signed JSON for every call, message and booking, sent to any HTTPS URL you choose.
- Live API actions: During the call, the receptionist calls the app's API with your key to look up or create records.
- Zapier: Send AssistCall events to a Zap (Webhooks by Zapier, Catch Hook), then use the app's Zapier actions. Needs a paid Zapier plan.
- Make: Start a Make scenario with a custom webhook and use the app's Make modules.
- n8n: Start an n8n workflow with a webhook node, then call the app with its node or an HTTP request.
- Call forwarding: Forward your business line to AssistCall when busy, after hours or always. Works with any carrier.
About Lawmatics's API
- Self-serve API: you can create a key in your account
- Style: REST (JSON)
- Authentication: OAuth 2.0 authorization code. The resulting access token does not expire
- On Zapier: yes. On Make: yes.
A Lawmatics account with developer settings creates an OAuth app under Settings > Developers. If those settings are missing, the docs say to contact Lawmatics support. The access token does not expire, which suits AssistCall's live lookup. The API has find-by-phone endpoints for contacts and matters. The rate limit is 500 requests per minute per firm. Outbound webhooks currently send only matter.converted, signed with HMAC-SHA256. The Make app was built by the community (Maxmel Tech) and is not maintained by Make or Lawmatics.
Not included: no one-click Lawmatics app, no listing in Lawmatics's marketplace, no two-way sync, and no partnership with Lawmatics.
