Use AssistCall with Filevine
AssistCall answers your business calls 24/7 and can send each call, message and booking to Filevine through Webhook, Zapier, n8n.
Filevine: Case management platform for law firms, widely used by personal injury and litigation practices. It is organized around projects, contacts and custom workflows.
Connects
Example call
A caller says she slipped in a grocery store yesterday. The receptionist records her contact details, the date and her injuries. A Zap finds or creates her Filevine contact and opens an intake project, and the intake team sees the new project along with the call summary.
- When an intake call ends, Zapier's Find or Create Contact action adds the caller to Filevine with their phone number and email.
- For a new lead, a Zap uses Create Project to open an intake project in Filevine from the lead.captured event.
- AssistCall sends call.completed events to an n8n workflow that uses the firm's own Filevine token to attach the call summary to the matching project.
How it connects
- Webhook: Signed JSON for every call, message and booking, sent to any HTTPS URL you choose.
- Zapier: Send AssistCall events to a Zap (Webhooks by Zapier, Catch Hook), then use the app's Zapier actions. Needs a paid Zapier plan.
- n8n: Start an n8n workflow with a webhook node, then call the app with its node or an HTTP request.
- Call forwarding: Forward your business line to AssistCall when busy, after hours or always. Works with any carrier.
About Filevine's API
- Self-serve API: you can create a key in your account
- Style: REST (JSON), API v2 through the Filevine API gateway
- Authentication: Personal access token plus a registered client ID and secret, exchanged for a short-lived bearer token
- On Zapier: yes. On Make: no.
An Account Admin generates a personal access token in Filevine's Account Manager. To call the API, that token and a registered client ID and secret (Filevine says to contact a representative if needed) are exchanged for a bearer token at identity.filevine.com. Because that bearer token is short-lived and needs this exchange first, AssistCall's live API lookup is not a direct fit; use Zapier, or send AssistCall's webhook to an n8n workflow. Rate limits use per-tenant buckets for customer apps. Zapier's Filevine listing links to a third-party site (vineskills.com).
Not included: no one-click Filevine app, no listing in Filevine's marketplace, no two-way sync, and no partnership with Filevine.
