Connects
Example call
A customer calls at 5:45 pm to ask whether their car is ready. AssistCall looks up their number in Shopmonkey, finds the open order and tells them its status. The advisor gets an email summary with the transcript.
- During a call, look up the caller's phone number in Shopmonkey with your own API key, so the receptionist can greet returning customers by name.
- Check the caller's open orders in Shopmonkey and tell them the current status, instead of putting them on hold for an advisor.
- When AssistCall books a visit, create the appointment in Shopmonkey through the API, or with an n8n workflow triggered by the appointment.booked webhook.
How it connects
- Call forwarding: Forward your business line to AssistCall when busy, after hours or always. Works with any carrier.
- Webhook: Signed JSON for every call, message and booking, sent to any HTTPS URL you choose.
- Live API actions: During the call, the receptionist calls the app's API with your key to look up or create records.
- n8n: Start an n8n workflow with a webhook node, then call the app with its node or an HTTP request.
About Shopmonkey's API
- Self-serve API: you can create a key in your account
- Style: REST (v3, JSON)
- Authentication: API key sent as a bearer token; an admin creates it in Settings > Integration > API Keys
- On Zapier: no. On Make: no.
Shopmonkey's pricing page lists 'API and Webhooks' as included on every plan. Only admins can create keys. A key carries its creator's permissions and is shown only once. Base URL is https://api.shopmonkey.cloud/v3. Useful endpoints include POST /v3/customer/phone_number/search, GET /v3/customer/:id/vehicle, GET /v3/customer/:id/order and POST /v3/appointment. The API is rate limited (429 with Retry-After); exact limits come from support. Webhooks are created with POST /v3/webhook (docs marked work in progress). No Zapier or Make app. n8n works through its HTTP Request node.
Not included: no one-click Shopmonkey app, no listing in Shopmonkey's marketplace, no two-way sync, and no partnership with Shopmonkey.
