Works alongside
Example call
A customer calls at 7 pm because their check-engine light is on. AssistCall takes their name, number, vehicle and symptoms and books an 8 am drop-off. The advisor finds an email summary with the recording, ready to open the repair order in Tekmetric.
- Forward the shop line to AssistCall when advisors are busy or after hours. It books drop-off times and takes messages, so callers don't reach voicemail.
- Email the service advisor a summary with the caller's name, number, vehicle and concern, plus the transcript and recording link, so the advisor can create the repair order in Tekmetric.
- Send appointment.booked and call.completed events by webhook to an HTTPS endpoint you control. If Tekmetric approves an API application for you, a developer can use those events to create the appointment in Tekmetric.
How it connects
- Call forwarding: Forward your business line to AssistCall when busy, after hours or always. Works with any carrier.
- Webhook: Signed JSON for every call, message and booking, sent to any HTTPS URL you choose.
About Tekmetric's API
- Partner API: the vendor approves access
- Style: REST (JSON)
- Authentication: OAuth 2.0 client credentials: a client ID and secret issued after approval, exchanged for a bearer token
- On Zapier: no. On Make: no.
Access starts with Tekmetric's API application form. Tekmetric says reviews take 2-3 weeks and that third-party applications may be declined at its discretion. The shop then grants the approved app access under Shop Settings > Integrations. Documented endpoints cover customers, vehicles, repair orders, jobs and appointments (POST /api/v1/appointments). Rate limit is 600 requests/minute (300 in the sandbox). No webhooks are documented. No Zapier or Make app. A shop cannot create its own API key, so live lookups from AssistCall are only possible if Tekmetric approves an application.
Not included: no one-click Tekmetric app, no listing in Tekmetric's marketplace, no two-way sync, and no partnership with Tekmetric.
