Square Online: Square Online is Square's website and online store builder; online orders, customers and payments sit in the same Square account as in-person sales.
Connects
Example call
Caller says "Is my pickup order ready?" AssistCall finds the caller in Square Customers by phone, searches their recent orders and reads back the status; the owner gets the call summary by email.
- During a call, AssistCall searches your Square customer directory by the caller's phone number so the receptionist can greet returning customers by name.
- During a call, AssistCall searches that customer's recent Square orders with your personal access token and tells the caller the order's status.
- When AssistCall captures a lead, a Zap creates the caller as a Square customer with Create Customer.
How it connects
- Webhook: Signed JSON for every call, message and booking, sent to any HTTPS URL you choose.
- Live API actions: During the call, the receptionist calls the app's API with your key to look up or create records.
- Zapier: Send AssistCall events to a Zap (Webhooks by Zapier, Catch Hook), then use the app's Zapier actions. Needs a paid Zapier plan.
- Make: Start a Make scenario with a custom webhook and use the app's Make modules.
- n8n: Start an n8n workflow with a webhook node, then call the app with its node or an HTTP request.
- Call forwarding: Forward your business line to AssistCall when busy, after hours or always. Works with any carrier.
About Square Online's API
- Self-serve API: you can create a key in your account
- Style: REST
- Authentication: Personal access token for your own account, or OAuth 2.0
- On Zapier: yes. On Make: yes.
Each application created in the Square Developer Console has a production personal access token, which Square describes as suitable for custom integrations that only access your own account. The Customers API can search by phone number (exact E.164 or fuzzy match). SearchOrders needs location IDs and can filter by customer and order source. Order and customer data for Square Online is read through Square's main Orders and Customers APIs. Zapier's Square app includes Find Customer (by email, phone or reference ID), Find Order and Create Customer; Make's Square app has 54 modules.
Not included: no one-click Square Online app, no listing in Square Online's marketplace, no two-way sync, and no partnership with Block, Inc. (Square).
