Works alongside
Example call
A caller wants to reschedule; AssistCall takes the request and their preferred times; the front desk gets the summary and moves the appointment in AdvancedMD.
- Forward after-hours and overflow calls to AssistCall, so patients get answered when staff are busy.
- Take reschedule and callback requests with preferred times, and email them to the front desk.
- If your practice has bought AdvancedMD API access for a developer, send AssistCall's appointment.booked webhook to that developer's service to add the visit in AdvancedMD.
How it connects
- Call forwarding: Forward your business line to AssistCall when busy, after hours or always. Works with any carrier.
- Webhook: Signed JSON for every call, message and booking, sent to any HTTPS URL you choose.
About AdvancedMD's API
- Partner API: the vendor approves access
- Style: Proprietary HTTPS API (exact style not verified)
- Authentication: Live credentials issued by AdvancedMD after an API Connect Agreement
- On Zapier: no. On Make: no.
Developers can test with an API sandbox (demo office) key. To go live they must complete an API vendor worksheet and buy an API Connect Agreement, and then AdvancedMD issues live credentials. A third-party scorecard confirms access is not self-serve. AdvancedMD also sells read-only ODBC data access. Webhook support was not verified. No Zapier or Make app. HIPAA: AssistCall does not offer or sign a Business Associate Agreement (BAA). Patient calls and their summaries can contain protected health information, so a HIPAA covered practice should check with its compliance advisor before forwarding patient calls to AssistCall or sending call data into AdvancedMD.
