Use AssistCall with Tebra
AssistCall answers your business calls 24/7 and can send each call, message and booking to Tebra through Webhook, n8n.
Tebra: Tebra (formerly Kareo and PatientPop) is EHR, practice management, billing and patient engagement software for independent practices.
Connects
Example call
A new patient calls to book; AssistCall books the slot and sends appointment.booked to the practice's n8n workflow; the workflow creates the patient and appointment through Tebra's SOAP API, and staff see the visit on the Tebra calendar.
- Forward your practice line to AssistCall after hours or when the front desk is busy, so new-patient calls are answered.
- Send AssistCall's appointment.booked webhook to an n8n workflow that calls Tebra's CreatePatient and CreateAppointment SOAP operations (a developer sets this up).
- Send message.taken events to n8n and email the front desk, so every callback request reaches the staff who work in Tebra.
How it connects
- Call forwarding: Forward your business line to AssistCall when busy, after hours or always. Works with any carrier.
- Webhook: Signed JSON for every call, message and booking, sent to any HTTPS URL you choose.
- n8n: Start an n8n workflow with a webhook node, then call the app with its node or an HTTP request.
About Tebra's API
- Self-serve API: you can create a key in your account
- Style: SOAP (XML)
- Authentication: Customer key plus a Tebra user name and password
- On Zapier: no. On Make: no.
A practice's System Administrator requests the customer key by opening a Tebra support case (Product API). It is not a click-to-create key, and it never expires. Tebra's API terms list no fee. The API is SOAP-based and supports patients, appointments, encounters and payments (CreatePatient, CreateAppointment and GetAppointments, for example). Tebra says it does not push webhooks and suggests polling. AssistCall's custom API step sends plain HTTPS GET or POST requests, so a Tebra link needs a bridge a developer builds, such as an n8n workflow that writes the SOAP request. Tebra's API terms limit access to you and your own entity, so read them before giving any third party your credentials. No Zapier or Make app. HIPAA: AssistCall does not offer or sign a Business Associate Agreement (BAA). Patient calls and their summaries can contain protected health information, so a HIPAA covered practice should check with its compliance advisor before forwarding patient calls to AssistCall or sending call data into Tebra.
