Use AssistCall with eClinicalWorks
AssistCall answers your business calls 24/7 and works alongside eClinicalWorks: forwarded calls get answered, booked or noted, with a summary of every call by email.
eClinicalWorks: Cloud EHR and practice management software for physician practices, with patient engagement through its healow apps.
Works alongside
Example call
After hours, a caller asks whether the practice takes their insurance; AssistCall answers from the practice's FAQ and takes a callback request; staff read the email summary and schedule the visit in eClinicalWorks.
- Forward your line to AssistCall after hours or when every front-desk line is busy, so callers are answered instead of abandoned.
- Answer routine questions such as office hours, directions and insurance accepted from the answers you give AssistCall.
- If your practice has a developer with an activated eClinicalWorks FHIR app, send AssistCall's call.completed webhook to that developer's service for follow-up in eClinicalWorks.
How it connects
- Call forwarding: Forward your business line to AssistCall when busy, after hours or always. Works with any carrier.
- Webhook: Signed JSON for every call, message and booking, sent to any HTTPS URL you choose.
About eClinicalWorks's API
- Partner API: the vendor approves access
- Style: FHIR R4
- Authentication: OAuth 2.0 (SMART on FHIR and backend services)
- On Zapier: no. On Make: no.
Developers sign up on the eClinicalWorks developer portal, register an app, test in a sandbox and publish it. Each practice then activates the app with an activation code. Scopes marked contract-required need a review and a signed pricing agreement with eClinicalWorks. Patient-facing scheduling apps go through healow. There is no simple API key a practice can paste into AssistCall, and AssistCall has no eClinicalWorks app. Webhook support was not verified. No Zapier or Make app. HIPAA: AssistCall does not offer or sign a Business Associate Agreement (BAA). Patient calls and their summaries can contain protected health information, so a HIPAA covered practice should check with its compliance advisor before forwarding patient calls to AssistCall or sending call data into eClinicalWorks.
Not included: no one-click eClinicalWorks app, no listing in eClinicalWorks's marketplace, no two-way sync, and no partnership with eClinicalWorks.
