Connects
Example call
A caller asks for directions. While they are still on the line, AssistCall texts the address from your EZ Texting number, and the text appears in your EZ Texting sent messages.
- When AssistCall books an appointment, a Zap runs EZ Texting's Send Message to text the customer the date and time.
- A lead.captured event triggers EZ Texting's Create/Update Contact in Zapier, saving the caller to a 'Phone leads' group so staff can text them back.
- During a live call, the receptionist texts the caller your address or a link they asked for through EZ Texting's messages API.
How it connects
- Webhook: Signed JSON for every call, message and booking, sent to any HTTPS URL you choose.
- Live API actions: During the call, the receptionist calls the app's API with your key to look up or create records.
- Zapier: Send AssistCall events to a Zap (Webhooks by Zapier, Catch Hook), then use the app's Zapier actions. Needs a paid Zapier plan.
- n8n: Start an n8n workflow with a webhook node, then call the app with its node or an HTTP request.
- Call forwarding: Forward your business line to AssistCall when busy, after hours or always. Works with any carrier.
About EZ Texting's API
- Self-serve API: you can create a key in your account
- Style: REST
- Authentication: HTTP Basic (account username and password) or OAuth 2.0 bearer token created from appKey/appSecret
- On Zapier: yes. On Make: no.
Basic auth uses the same login as the web app, so create a separate user for integrations. OAuth access tokens last 90 minutes and refresh tokens 60 days, so a live-call step should use Basic auth. The default limit is 200 calls per minute. Webhook subscriptions are managed through the API. The older REST API is closed to new users. No Make app was found. Marketing texts need the contact's prior consent.
Not included: no one-click EZ Texting app, no listing in EZ Texting's marketplace, no two-way sync, and no partnership with EZ Texting.
