Use AssistCall with Mailchimp
AssistCall answers your business calls 24/7 and can send each call, message and booking to Mailchimp through Webhook, Live API actions, Zapier, Make, n8n.
Mailchimp: Email and SMS marketing platform for small businesses, with audiences, campaigns, automations and signup forms.
Connects
Example call
A caller asks about your spring class and wants your newsletter. AssistCall takes their email, a Zap adds them to your Mailchimp audience tagged 'phone-signup', and the tagged subscriber appears in your audience.
- When a caller asks to join your mailing list and gives an email, AssistCall's call.completed webhook triggers a Zap that runs Mailchimp's Add/Update Subscriber and tags them 'phone-signup'.
- During a live call, after the caller spells out their email, the receptionist adds or updates them in your Mailchimp audience through the Marketing API using your own API key.
- Send appointment.booked events to an n8n workflow whose Mailchimp node tags the contact 'booked', so you can segment customers who booked by phone.
How it connects
- Webhook: Signed JSON for every call, message and booking, sent to any HTTPS URL you choose.
- Live API actions: During the call, the receptionist calls the app's API with your key to look up or create records.
- Zapier: Send AssistCall events to a Zap (Webhooks by Zapier, Catch Hook), then use the app's Zapier actions. Needs a paid Zapier plan.
- Make: Start a Make scenario with a custom webhook and use the app's Make modules.
- n8n: Start an n8n workflow with a webhook node, then call the app with its node or an HTTP request.
- Call forwarding: Forward your business line to AssistCall when busy, after hours or always. Works with any carrier.
About Mailchimp's API
- Self-serve API: you can create a key in your account
- Style: REST (Marketing API 3.0)
- Authentication: API key (HTTP Basic) or OAuth 2.0
- On Zapier: yes. On Make: yes.
Users with Manager or Admin permissions create keys under Profile > Extras > API keys. Keys created on or after June 22, 2026 expire after one year, so plan to rotate them. Audience webhooks report subscribes, unsubscribes, email changes and campaign sends. Each account gets up to 10 simultaneous API connections. Contacts are keyed by email, so a phone-only caller needs to give an email before they can be added. Free-plan API limits were not verified.
Not included: no one-click Mailchimp app, no listing in Mailchimp's marketplace, no two-way sync, and no partnership with Intuit Mailchimp.
