Use AssistCall with IntakeQ
AssistCall answers your business calls 24/7 and can send each call, message and booking to IntakeQ through Live API actions, Webhook, Zapier, Make, n8n.
IntakeQ: IntakeQ (now sold as PracticeQ) provides online intake forms, scheduling, notes, billing and telehealth for small health and wellness practices.
Connects
Example call
A new client calls to book an intake session; AssistCall takes their details and books the time; the appointment.booked event runs a Zap that saves the client in IntakeQ, and the practitioner sees the new client there.
- During a call, have AssistCall look up the caller in IntakeQ by the name or email they give (GET /clients) using your IntakeQ API key.
- When AssistCall books an appointment, have the appointment.booked webhook trigger a Zap that saves the caller as a client with IntakeQ's Zapier app.
- Have AssistCall's custom API step create the appointment in IntakeQ (POST /appointments) with your practitioner, service and location IDs.
How it connects
- Live API actions: During the call, the receptionist calls the app's API with your key to look up or create records.
- Webhook: Signed JSON for every call, message and booking, sent to any HTTPS URL you choose.
- Zapier: Send AssistCall events to a Zap (Webhooks by Zapier, Catch Hook), then use the app's Zapier actions. Needs a paid Zapier plan.
- Make: Start a Make scenario with a custom webhook and use the app's Make modules.
- n8n: Start an n8n workflow with a webhook node, then call the app with its node or an HTTP request.
- Call forwarding: Forward your business line to AssistCall when busy, after hours or always. Works with any carrier.
About IntakeQ's API
- Self-serve API: you can create a key in your account
- Style: REST (JSON)
- Authentication: API key in an X-Auth-Key header
- On Zapier: yes. On Make: yes.
The main account owner turns on API access under More > Settings > Integrations > Developer API and copies the key. The standard plan allows 10 requests per minute and 500 per day, and higher limits are available. Client search (GET /clients?search=) matches name, email or client ID, not phone number. The Appointments API can list, create, update and cancel appointments, and appointment webhooks (created, confirmed, rescheduled, canceled and more) are set up on the API settings page. IntakeQ's Zapier app is joined through an invitation link in IntakeQ settings and is not listed publicly; it has triggers for new form submission, new client and new appointment, and actions to send a form and save a client. IntakeQ says Zapier is not covered by its BAA. Make's IntakeQ app is community-built by MAXMEL Tech, not by Make or IntakeQ. HIPAA: AssistCall does not offer or sign a Business Associate Agreement (BAA). Calls to these practices usually contain protected health information, so a HIPAA covered practice should check with its compliance advisor before forwarding client calls to AssistCall or sending call data into IntakeQ.
Not included: no one-click IntakeQ app, no listing in IntakeQ's marketplace, no two-way sync, and no partnership with IntakeQ (PracticeQ).
