Connects
Example call
Caller asks "Do you have the size 9 trail runner in stock?" AssistCall checks the product's inventory in Lightspeed X-Series with the store's personal token and reads back the on-hand count; the owner gets a summary of the call.
- During a call, AssistCall looks up a customer record through the X-Series API with your personal token so the receptionist can check the caller's account.
- During a call, AssistCall checks a product's inventory through the X-Series API and tells the caller whether it's in stock.
- Forward your store's line to AssistCall when staff are busy at the register, and get each caller's message by email.
How it connects
- Webhook: Signed JSON for every call, message and booking, sent to any HTTPS URL you choose.
- Live API actions: During the call, the receptionist calls the app's API with your key to look up or create records.
- n8n: Start an n8n workflow with a webhook node, then call the app with its node or an HTTP request.
- Call forwarding: Forward your business line to AssistCall when busy, after hours or always. Works with any carrier.
About Lightspeed Retail's API
- Self-serve API: you can create a key in your account
- Style: REST
- Authentication: Personal token (X-Series) or OAuth 2.0
- On Zapier: no. On Make: no.
On Lightspeed Retail X-Series, admin users can create personal tokens, but only on the Plus plan. R-Series uses OAuth with tokens that must be refreshed, which doesn't fit AssistCall's fixed-token lookups. X-Series webhooks (sale.update, customer.update, inventory.update) don't guarantee delivery, according to Lightspeed. No Zapier or Make app for Lightspeed Retail could be confirmed in this research; n8n's HTTP Request node can call the API. Product and customer search parameters were not confirmed here.
Not included: no one-click Lightspeed Retail app, no listing in Lightspeed Retail's marketplace, no two-way sync, and no partnership with Lightspeed Commerce Inc..
