Use AssistCall with NextGen Healthcare
AssistCall answers your business calls 24/7 and works alongside NextGen Healthcare: forwarded calls get answered, booked or noted, with a summary of every call by email.
NextGen Healthcare: NextGen Enterprise and NextGen Office are EHR and practice management systems for ambulatory medical groups, from small offices to large groups and health centers.
Works alongside
Example call
A patient calls during the lunch rush to reschedule; AssistCall takes the request and preferred times; the front desk gets the email summary and moves the appointment in NextGen.
- Forward overflow and after-hours calls to AssistCall, so callers get answered when every line is busy.
- Take appointment and refill requests as messages with urgency, and email them to the right staff member.
- If your organization has a developer enrolled in NextGen's API program, send AssistCall's signed webhooks to their service for follow-up in NextGen.
How it connects
- Call forwarding: Forward your business line to AssistCall when busy, after hours or always. Works with any carrier.
- Webhook: Signed JSON for every call, message and booking, sent to any HTTPS URL you choose.
About NextGen Healthcare's API
- Partner API: the vendor approves access
- Style: REST JSON (Enterprise API) and FHIR R4
- Authentication: Credentials issued through NextGen's API Developer Program (method not verified)
- On Zapier: no. On Make: no.
NextGen shares full Enterprise API documentation (800+ routes) only after a developer submits its API Developer Program onboarding form. Practices then grant vendor apps access through the NextGen API Client Portal, which needs permission from a Main Client Community user. Patient Access FHIR documentation is public. Practices cannot create a self-serve key to paste into AssistCall. Zapier lists a NextGen Healthcare page but no working app, and Make has none. Webhook support was not verified. HIPAA: AssistCall does not offer or sign a Business Associate Agreement (BAA). Patient calls and their summaries can contain protected health information, so a HIPAA covered practice should check with its compliance advisor before forwarding patient calls to AssistCall or sending call data into NextGen.
Not included: no one-click NextGen Healthcare app, no listing in NextGen Healthcare's marketplace, no two-way sync, and no partnership with NextGen Healthcare, Inc..
