Use AssistCall with Practice Better
AssistCall answers your business calls 24/7 and can send each call, message and booking to Practice Better through Webhook, Zapier, n8n.
Practice Better: Practice management software for nutritionists, dietitians, health coaches and functional medicine practitioners, with booking, client records, programs and payments.
Connects
Example call
A caller asks about nutrition coaching; AssistCall answers from your FAQ and captures their name, phone and email; the lead.captured event runs a Zap that adds them as a client in Practice Better, where you see the new client.
- When AssistCall captures a lead who gives their email, have the lead.captured webhook trigger a Zap that adds them as a client in Practice Better (Add Client action).
- Send message.taken events to an n8n workflow that calls the Practice Better API (beta) to send the caller your intake forms.
- Forward your phone to AssistCall while you are with clients, so new inquiries are answered and summarized by email.
How it connects
- Webhook: Signed JSON for every call, message and booking, sent to any HTTPS URL you choose.
- Zapier: Send AssistCall events to a Zap (Webhooks by Zapier, Catch Hook), then use the app's Zapier actions. Needs a paid Zapier plan.
- n8n: Start an n8n workflow with a webhook node, then call the app with its node or an HTTP request.
- Call forwarding: Forward your business line to AssistCall when busy, after hours or always. Works with any carrier.
About Practice Better's API
- Self-serve API: you can create a key in your account
- Style: REST
- Authentication: OAuth 2.0 client credentials (client ID and secret exchanged for a short-lived bearer token)
- On Zapier: yes. On Make: no.
The Practice Better API is in public beta for paid plans. You add the API Access add-on, which is free during the beta with pricing promised later, Practice Better's support team reviews the request, and then you create your own API key in Settings. The API can read data, book sessions, send forms and create or invite clients. Tokens are short-lived, so a live link from AssistCall's custom API step is not direct; use Zapier or an n8n workflow. Practice Better's own Zapier app has triggers (new client, confirmed, updated and canceled booking, confirmed package, program enrollment) and an Add Client action that needs first name, last name and email. Practice Better warns that Zapier moves client contact data outside Practice Better. No Make app. HIPAA: AssistCall does not offer or sign a Business Associate Agreement (BAA). If your practice is a HIPAA covered entity, check with your compliance advisor before sending client calls or call data through AssistCall.
Not included: no one-click Practice Better app, no listing in Practice Better's marketplace, no two-way sync, and no partnership with Practice Better.
