A prospect calls while the sales team is in a meeting. The receptionist collects their company, budget and timeline. A Zap creates a Salesforce lead with the call summary in its description, and the rep sees it in their lead list when they're back at their desk.

How it connects

About Salesforce's API

Salesforce's help article says Enterprise, Unlimited, Developer and Performance editions include API access. Professional Edition needs the paid Web Services API add-on, and Essentials cannot get API access at all. The article does not mention Starter Suite or Pro Suite, so ask Salesforce to confirm API access before relying on it. Zapier and Make both connect through the Salesforce API, so they also need an API-enabled edition. Make also needs an admin to allow a connected app or external client app. Outbound changes can be sent with outbound messages, which Zapier can use as a trigger. AssistCall's live API step uses a fixed key and does not do Salesforce's OAuth sign-in, so live lookups during a call are not offered.
