Connects
Example call
Caller says "Let me know when the ceramic mugs are back, my email is ..." AssistCall captures the lead; a Zap creates a Squarespace contact with Create Contact, and the owner sees the new contact in Squarespace and gets the call summary by email.
- During a call, AssistCall reads recent orders from the Squarespace Orders API with your read-only key to check whether the caller's order shows as fulfilled.
- When a caller gives their name and email, AssistCall captures the lead and a Zap adds them to Squarespace with Create Contact.
- Forward the phone number on your Squarespace site to AssistCall after hours, and get every call's summary and transcript by email.
How it connects
- Webhook: Signed JSON for every call, message and booking, sent to any HTTPS URL you choose.
- Live API actions: During the call, the receptionist calls the app's API with your key to look up or create records.
- Zapier: Send AssistCall events to a Zap (Webhooks by Zapier, Catch Hook), then use the app's Zapier actions. Needs a paid Zapier plan.
- Make: Start a Make scenario with a custom webhook and use the app's Make modules.
- n8n: Start an n8n workflow with a webhook node, then call the app with its node or an HTTP request.
- Call forwarding: Forward your business line to AssistCall when busy, after hours or always. Works with any carrier.
About Squarespace Commerce's API
- Self-serve API: you can create a key in your account
- Style: REST
- Authentication: API key (Bearer) for your own site; OAuth for Squarespace Extensions
- On Zapier: yes. On Make: yes.
Site owners generate keys in Developer tools > Developer API Keys and choose permissions per API (Orders, Inventory, Products, Transactions, Contacts, Forms). Squarespace's guide ties Orders, Inventory and Transactions keys to commerce plans; it names Commerce Advanced in one place and also lists Core, Plus and Advanced, so check your plan. Keys don't expire while the site is active. Orders can be fetched by order ID or listed and filtered by customer ID and payment state. Webhook subscriptions need an OAuth Extension, not an API key. Zapier's Squarespace Commerce app has 4 triggers and a Create Contact action; Make's Squarespace app includes Create an Order.
Not included: no one-click Squarespace Commerce app, no listing in Squarespace Commerce's marketplace, no two-way sync, and no partnership with Squarespace, Inc..
