Use AssistCall with Asana
AssistCall answers your business calls 24/7 and can send each call, message and booking to Asana through Zapier, Make, n8n, Live API actions.
Asana: A work management app where teams plan projects, assign tasks and track deadlines. Small businesses use it for client projects and recurring operations work.
Connects
Example call
A caller wants to renew their annual service plan. The receptionist takes their name, number and plan details. A Zap creates a task in the 'Renewals' project assigned to the office manager, who sees it in My Tasks.
- Create an Asana task in a 'Callbacks' project for each message.taken event, assigned to whoever returns calls, with the caller's reason and number.
- During a call, the receptionist creates a task with your personal access token (a POST to /tasks built from a body template), so the request is in the right project before the caller hangs up.
- Add each appointment.booked event as an Asana task due on the appointment date, through Make or n8n's Asana node.
How it connects
- Zapier: Send AssistCall events to a Zap (Webhooks by Zapier, Catch Hook), then use the app's Zapier actions. Needs a paid Zapier plan.
- Make: Start a Make scenario with a custom webhook and use the app's Make modules.
- n8n: Start an n8n workflow with a webhook node, then call the app with its node or an HTTP request.
- Live API actions: During the call, the receptionist calls the app's API with your key to look up or create records.
- Call forwarding: Forward your business line to AssistCall when busy, after hours or always. Works with any carrier.
About Asana's API
- Self-serve API: you can create a key in your account
- Style: REST (JSON)
- Authentication: A personal access token from the Asana developer console, sent as a Bearer token. Tokens last until revoked (admins on Enterprise+ can restrict them).
- On Zapier: yes. On Make: yes.
Any user can create a personal access token. Limits: 150 requests a minute for free accounts and 1,500 for paid ones. A task is created with a POST to /api/1.0/tasks, with the fields inside a data object, which AssistCall's JSON body template supports. Asana's own outgoing webhooks need an X-Hook-Secret handshake, but that only matters if you build your own receiver.
