Use AssistCall with Trello
AssistCall answers your business calls 24/7 and can send each call, message and booking to Trello through Zapier, Make, n8n, Live API actions.
Trello: A board app from Atlassian where small teams track jobs, leads and tasks as cards that move across lists.
Connects
Example call
A tenant calls to say a toilet in their unit is overflowing. The receptionist takes an urgent message and creates a card at the top of the 'Urgent' list on the maintenance board, where the property manager sees it on the next look at the board.
- Create a Trello card in a 'New calls' list for every completed call, with the caller's number and the summary in the description, using Zapier's Create Card action.
- During a call, the receptionist creates a card at the top of your 'Urgent' list through Trello's API with your key and token, so the team sees the job while the caller is still on the line.
- Send appointment.booked events through Make or n8n to add a card with its due date set to the appointment time.
How it connects
- Zapier: Send AssistCall events to a Zap (Webhooks by Zapier, Catch Hook), then use the app's Zapier actions. Needs a paid Zapier plan.
- Make: Start a Make scenario with a custom webhook and use the app's Make modules.
- n8n: Start an n8n workflow with a webhook node, then call the app with its node or an HTTP request.
- Live API actions: During the call, the receptionist calls the app's API with your key to look up or create records.
- Call forwarding: Forward your business line to AssistCall when busy, after hours or always. Works with any carrier.
About Trello's API
- Self-serve API: you can create a key in your account
- Style: REST (JSON)
- Authentication: An API key from a Power-Up you create in Trello's Power-Up admin portal, plus a user token. Send them as key/token query parameters or as an 'Authorization: OAuth oauth_consumer_key="...", oauth_token="..."' header. A token can be set to never expire.
- On Zapier: yes. On Make: yes.
To get a key, create a Power-Up in the Power-Up admin portal, open its Trello Auth tab and generate an API key, then use the Token link next to it to authorize a token. Tokens can expire after 1 hour, 1 day or 30 days, or never. Use 'never' for AssistCall. The token can read and write your whole Trello account, so keep it private. Limits: 100 requests per 10 seconds per token and 300 per 10 seconds per key. A card is created with a POST to /1/cards. A JSON body template can set idList, name, desc and pos (top) from the caller's details.
Not included: no one-click Trello app, no listing in Trello's marketplace, no two-way sync, and no partnership with Atlassian.
