Use AssistCall with Zapier
AssistCall answers your business calls 24/7 and can send each call, message and booking to Zapier through Webhook, Zapier.
Zapier: A no-code automation service that connects more than 9,000 apps, so a small business can pass data from one app to another without writing code.
Connects
Example call
A caller asks for a quote after hours. The receptionist takes their name, number and what they need. AssistCall posts the call.completed event to the business's Catch Hook, a Zap adds the caller to the CRM and emails the summary to the sales inbox, and the owner sees the new lead there in the morning.
- Paste a Catch Hook URL into AssistCall so every completed call starts a Zap that can email the summary, post to Slack or add the caller to a CRM or spreadsheet.
- Add a Filter step so only message.taken events marked urgent go on to email the on-call manager, while normal messages go to a shared inbox.
- Send appointment.booked events to a Zap that creates the job in your scheduling or field service app and emails the customer a confirmation.
How it connects
- Webhook: Signed JSON for every call, message and booking, sent to any HTTPS URL you choose.
- Zapier: Send AssistCall events to a Zap (Webhooks by Zapier, Catch Hook), then use the app's Zapier actions. Needs a paid Zapier plan.
- Call forwarding: Forward your business line to AssistCall when busy, after hours or always. Works with any carrier.
About Zapier's API
- Self-serve API: you can create a key in your account
- Style: Inbound webhook URL (Webhooks by Zapier: Catch Hook or Catch Raw Hook trigger)
- Authentication: No key on the hook itself: the unique hooks.zapier.com URL acts as the secret, so keep it private. Nothing expires.
- On Zapier: yes. On Make: yes.
The trigger that receives AssistCall events is Webhooks by Zapier with the Catch Hook event. It needs a paid plan (Pro, Team or Enterprise). The Free plan has no webhooks. Pro starts at $19.99 a month billed yearly, or $29.99 billed monthly, for 750 tasks. Paste the Catch Hook URL into AssistCall as a webhook endpoint, pick the events and send a test so Zapier picks up the fields. Catch Hook parses AssistCall's JSON, so nested fields such as the call summary and the caller's phone show up as separate fields you can map. Catch Raw Hook also passes the headers, if you want to check the X-AssistCall-Signature header. Zapier always answers with a fixed 200 response and can't send back custom data, so a Zap can't answer the receptionist's questions during a call. Payloads can be up to 10 MB.
