Use AssistCall with Google Sheets
AssistCall answers your business calls 24/7 and can send each call, message and booking to Google Sheets through Zapier, Make, n8n.
Google Sheets: Google's online spreadsheet, free with any Google account and part of Google Workspace, which small businesses use for lead lists, call logs, job trackers and simple reports.
Connects
Example call
A caller says their AC stopped working and asks for a callback today. The receptionist takes the message and marks it urgent. A Zap adds a row to the owner's 'Callbacks' sheet with the caller's name, number and the problem, and the owner sees the new row when they open the sheet on their phone.
- Add a row to a Google Sheet for every completed call with the caller's number, name, summary, duration and recording link, using Zapier's Create Spreadsheet Row action.
- Log every message.taken event in a 'Callbacks' sheet with the caller's name, number, reason and urgency, so staff can mark each callback done in the sheet.
- Keep a sheet of appointments booked, moved or canceled by phone: n8n's Google Sheets node (Append or Update Row) uses AssistCall's appointment ID to find the row and update it.
How it connects
- Zapier: Send AssistCall events to a Zap (Webhooks by Zapier, Catch Hook), then use the app's Zapier actions. Needs a paid Zapier plan.
- Make: Start a Make scenario with a custom webhook and use the app's Make modules.
- n8n: Start an n8n workflow with a webhook node, then call the app with its node or an HTTP request.
- Call forwarding: Forward your business line to AssistCall when busy, after hours or always. Works with any carrier.
About Google Sheets's API
- Self-serve API: you can create a key in your account
- Style: REST (JSON), Sheets API v4
- Authentication: OAuth 2.0 user consent or a service account. Both give access tokens that expire after one hour, so they have to be refreshed or issued again.
- On Zapier: yes. On Make: yes.
Normal use of the Sheets API is free within its quotas: 300 reads and 300 writes a minute per project, and 60 a minute per user. Google says requests over the quota are planned to be billed later in 2026. Google only issues OAuth access tokens that expire within an hour, service accounts included, so AssistCall's live API action can't write to Sheets directly. Use Zapier, Make or n8n's Google Sheets node, which refresh the token for you. A Google Apps Script web app isn't a good direct webhook target: it answers POSTs with a redirect, AssistCall counts that as a failed delivery and retries, and the retries can add duplicate rows.
Not included: no one-click Google Sheets app, no listing in Google Sheets's marketplace, no two-way sync, and no partnership with Google LLC.
