Use AssistCall with ClickUp
AssistCall answers your business calls 24/7 and can send each call, message and booking to ClickUp through Zapier, Make, n8n, Live API actions.
ClickUp: A project and task management app with docs, chat and dashboards, which small teams use to track client work, jobs and internal to-dos.
Connects
Example call
A client calls to say their website is down. The receptionist takes an urgent message, and a Zap creates an urgent-priority task in the agency's 'Support' list with the caller's name, number and description of the problem. The account manager picks it up from the Support list.
- Create a ClickUp task in a 'Callbacks' list for each message.taken event, with the caller's reason in the description and the priority set from the urgency, using Zapier or Make.
- During a call, the receptionist creates a task in your service list with your pk_ token, so the team sees the new job while the caller is still on the line.
- Use n8n's ClickUp node to create a task for each completed call with the summary and recording link, so the call history sits next to that client's work.
How it connects
- Zapier: Send AssistCall events to a Zap (Webhooks by Zapier, Catch Hook), then use the app's Zapier actions. Needs a paid Zapier plan.
- Make: Start a Make scenario with a custom webhook and use the app's Make modules.
- n8n: Start an n8n workflow with a webhook node, then call the app with its node or an HTTP request.
- Live API actions: During the call, the receptionist calls the app's API with your key to look up or create records.
- Call forwarding: Forward your business line to AssistCall when busy, after hours or always. Works with any carrier.
About ClickUp's API
- Self-serve API: you can create a key in your account
- Style: REST (JSON)
- Authentication: A personal API token (starts with pk_) sent in the Authorization header. ClickUp says personal tokens never expire.
- On Zapier: yes. On Make: yes.
Any user can create a personal token under Settings > Apps. Limits per token: 100 requests a minute on Free Forever, Unlimited and Business, 1,000 on Business Plus and 10,000 on Enterprise. A task is created with a POST to /api/v2/list/{list_id}/task. A JSON body template can put the caller's details into the task name and description.
Not included: no one-click ClickUp app, no listing in ClickUp's marketplace, no two-way sync, and no partnership with ClickUp.
