Use AssistCall with Freshdesk
AssistCall answers your business calls 24/7 and can send each call, message and booking to Freshdesk through Zapier, Make, n8n.
Freshdesk: Freshworks' help desk software that turns email, chat, phone and social messages into tickets for small and mid-size support teams.
Connects
Example call
A customer calls to say their order arrived damaged. The receptionist takes the details, and a new Freshdesk ticket appears with the caller's number, the summary and a link to the recording.
- Create a Freshdesk ticket from each message the receptionist takes, with the caller's number, reason and urgency, through Zapier's Create Ticket action, Make or n8n.
- Add each new caller as a Freshdesk contact from lead.captured events with Make's Create a Contact module or Zapier.
- Put the call summary and recording link into the ticket description, so agents can listen to the call before replying.
How it connects
- Zapier: Send AssistCall events to a Zap (Webhooks by Zapier, Catch Hook), then use the app's Zapier actions. Needs a paid Zapier plan.
- Make: Start a Make scenario with a custom webhook and use the app's Make modules.
- n8n: Start an n8n workflow with a webhook node, then call the app with its node or an HTTP request.
- Call forwarding: Forward your business line to AssistCall when busy, after hours or always. Works with any carrier.
About Freshdesk's API
- Self-serve API: you can create a key in your account
- Style: REST
- Authentication: API key sent as Basic auth; each agent's key is under Profile settings
- On Zapier: yes. On Make: yes.
Each agent has a personal API key under Profile settings. Rate limits depend on the plan, and trial accounts get 50 calls per minute. Automation rules can call a webhook when tickets change. Freshdesk rejects any request that includes a field it doesn't expect (error code invalid_field). AssistCall's live actions add caller_phone and call_id to each request, so for now connect Freshdesk through Zapier, Make or n8n.
Not included: no one-click Freshdesk app, no listing in Freshdesk's marketplace, no two-way sync, and no partnership with Freshworks Inc..
