Use AssistCall with Zendesk
AssistCall answers your business calls 24/7 and can send each call, message and booking to Zendesk through Zapier, Make, n8n, Live API actions.
Zendesk: Help desk software that turns customer emails, chats and calls into tickets a support team can track and answer.
Connects
Example call
A customer calls to ask if their repair ticket is closed. The receptionist finds them in Zendesk by phone number and tells them the ticket is still open. The owner gets the call summary by email afterwards.
- Create a Zendesk ticket from every message the receptionist takes, with the caller's number, reason, urgency and recording link, through Zapier's Create Ticket action, Make or n8n.
- During a call, find the caller in Zendesk by phone number (GET /api/v2/users/search) and then read their requested tickets, so the receptionist can say whether the latest one is open or solved.
- Use Zapier's Find or Create User action on lead.captured events so every new caller exists as a Zendesk user before an agent follows up.
How it connects
- Zapier: Send AssistCall events to a Zap (Webhooks by Zapier, Catch Hook), then use the app's Zapier actions. Needs a paid Zapier plan.
- Make: Start a Make scenario with a custom webhook and use the app's Make modules.
- n8n: Start an n8n workflow with a webhook node, then call the app with its node or an HTTP request.
- Live API actions: During the call, the receptionist calls the app's API with your key to look up or create records.
- Call forwarding: Forward your business line to AssistCall when busy, after hours or always. Works with any carrier.
About Zendesk's API
- Self-serve API: you can create a key in your account
- Style: REST
- Authentication: OAuth access token, or API token sent as Basic auth (email/token)
- On Zapier: yes. On Make: yes.
Admins manage API tokens and OAuth clients in Admin Center under Apps and integrations > APIs. Zendesk now marks API tokens as deprecated and recommends OAuth access tokens. Rate limits on Zendesk Suite: Team 200 requests per minute, Growth and Professional 400, Enterprise 700. The Users search endpoint matches on phone number, which makes caller lookups possible.
