Use AssistCall with Front
AssistCall answers your business calls 24/7 and can send each call, message and booking to Front through Zapier, Make, n8n, Live API actions.
Front: Shared inbox platform where teams handle email, SMS, chat and social messages together, with assignments and internal comments.
Connects
Example call
A tenant calls the property manager about a leaking pipe. The receptionist takes the unit number and details, and the message lands in the team's shared Front inbox ready to assign to maintenance.
- Import each call summary into a shared Front inbox as a message with Zapier's Import Message action, so the team can assign it and follow up.
- During a call, look up the caller as a Front contact by phone (GET /contacts/alt:phone:{caller_phone}) with the business's own API token, so the receptionist can greet a known customer by name.
- Add new callers as Front contacts from lead.captured events with Zapier's Find or Create Contact action.
How it connects
- Zapier: Send AssistCall events to a Zap (Webhooks by Zapier, Catch Hook), then use the app's Zapier actions. Needs a paid Zapier plan.
- Make: Start a Make scenario with a custom webhook and use the app's Make modules.
- n8n: Start an n8n workflow with a webhook node, then call the app with its node or an HTTP request.
- Live API actions: During the call, the receptionist calls the app's API with your key to look up or create records.
- Call forwarding: Forward your business line to AssistCall when busy, after hours or always. Works with any carrier.
About Front's API
- Self-serve API: you can create a key in your account
- Style: REST (Core API)
- Authentication: API token (Bearer) created by an admin under Settings > Developers; OAuth for partner apps
- On Zapier: yes. On Make: yes.
Only admins can create API tokens, and tokens belong to the company rather than to one user. Rate limits are 50 requests per minute on Starter, 100 on Professional and 200 on Enterprise. A contact can be fetched by phone number with the alias alt:phone:+15551234567. Front's pages found here don't say which plans include API access, so check before buying.
Not included: no one-click Front app, no listing in Front's marketplace, no two-way sync, and no partnership with Front (FrontApp, Inc.).
