Integrations / Help desk and team chat
Use AssistCall with Intercom
AssistCall answers your business calls 24/7 and can send each call, message and booking to Intercom through Zapier, Make, n8n.
Intercom: Customer service platform with a help desk, a live chat messenger and the Fin AI agent, used mostly by software and online businesses.
Connects
Example call
A subscriber calls to say they were charged twice. The receptionist takes the details, and an Intercom ticket opens for the support team with the caller's number, the summary and the recording link.
- Create an Intercom ticket for each message the receptionist takes, through Zapier's Create Ticket action, Make or n8n.
- Add new callers as Intercom leads from lead.captured events with Zapier's Create Lead action, so the team can follow up by email or chat.
- Attach the call summary to the caller's Intercom profile with Zapier's Add Note action.
How it connects
- Zapier: Send AssistCall events to a Zap (Webhooks by Zapier, Catch Hook), then use the app's Zapier actions. Needs a paid Zapier plan.
- Make: Start a Make scenario with a custom webhook and use the app's Make modules.
- n8n: Start an n8n workflow with a webhook node, then call the app with its node or an HTTP request.
- Call forwarding: Forward your business line to AssistCall when busy, after hours or always. Works with any carrier.
About Intercom's API
- Self-serve API: you can create a key in your account
- Style: REST
- Authentication: Access token (Bearer) from an app in the workspace's Developer Hub; OAuth for public apps
- On Zapier: yes. On Make: yes.
Creating an app in the workspace's Developer Hub issues an access token right away, which should be kept private like a password. Webhook subscriptions are set up in the Developer Hub and work on paid and development workspaces. Searching contacts by phone needs a nested query body, so AssistCall connects through Zapier, Make or n8n rather than live lookups.
Not included: no one-click Intercom app, no listing in Intercom's marketplace, no two-way sync, and no partnership with Fin (the company formerly named Intercom; renamed in 2026).
