AssistCall answers your business calls 24/7 and can send each call, message and booking to Jira Service Management through Zapier, n8n, Live API actions.
Jira Service Management: Atlassian's service desk for IT and service teams, built on Jira, with a customer portal, request queues and SLAs.
Connects
Example call
A client's office manager calls because the office network is down. The receptionist checks open request HELP-482 and tells them it is in progress, and the on-call technician gets the call summary by email.
- Raise a Jira Service Management request for each message the receptionist takes, using Zapier's Create Request action or n8n.
- During a call, check a request's status by its key (for example HELP-123) with GET /rest/servicedeskapi/request/{key} and the business's own API token, then tell the caller where it stands.
- Filter message.taken events on urgency in Zapier so urgent calls go in as a separate request type that on-call staff watch.
How it connects
- Zapier: Send AssistCall events to a Zap (Webhooks by Zapier, Catch Hook), then use the app's Zapier actions. Needs a paid Zapier plan.
- n8n: Start an n8n workflow with a webhook node, then call the app with its node or an HTTP request.
- Live API actions: During the call, the receptionist calls the app's API with your key to look up or create records.
- Call forwarding: Forward your business line to AssistCall when busy, after hours or always. Works with any carrier.
About Jira Service Management's API
- Self-serve API: you can create a key in your account
- Style: REST
- Authentication: API token from id.atlassian.com sent as Basic auth (email:token), or OAuth 2.0
- On Zapier: yes. On Make: no.
Any user can create an API token at id.atlassian.com/manage/api-tokens, and the token has that user's permissions. The Basic auth header is the base64 of email:token. Make has a Jira Cloud Platform app that can create issues in a service project, but no app built for Jira Service Management, so Make is not listed here.
Not included: no one-click Jira Service Management app, no listing in Jira Service Management's marketplace, no two-way sync, and no partnership with Atlassian.
