Use AssistCall with Make
AssistCall answers your business calls 24/7 and can send each call, message and booking to Make through Webhook, Make, Live API actions.
Make: A visual automation platform, formerly called Integromat, where you connect app modules into multi-step scenarios that move data between more than 3,000 apps.
Connects
Example call
A caller asks whether their repair is ready. The receptionist sends the ticket number to the shop's Make webhook, the scenario finds it in the job sheet and returns 'ready for pickup', and the receptionist tells the caller. The owner can see each lookup in the scenario's history in Make.
- Start a Make scenario from message.taken events and use a Router to text or email the owner about urgent messages and log the rest in a Google Sheet.
- During a call, the receptionist posts the caller's question to a Make webhook that searches your own data, such as a Google Sheet of job statuses, and gets the answer back from a Webhook response module, as long as the scenario finishes in about 6 seconds.
- Send appointment.booked events to a scenario that emails the customer a confirmation and adds the job to your calendar or field service app.
How it connects
- Webhook: Signed JSON for every call, message and booking, sent to any HTTPS URL you choose.
- Make: Start a Make scenario with a custom webhook and use the app's Make modules.
- Live API actions: During the call, the receptionist calls the app's API with your key to look up or create records.
- Call forwarding: Forward your business line to AssistCall when busy, after hours or always. Works with any carrier.
About Make's API
- Self-serve API: you can create a key in your account
- Style: Inbound webhook URL (Webhooks app: Custom webhook trigger), with an optional Webhook response module
- Authentication: A unique webhook URL. You can also require an API key, which callers send in an x-make-apikey header. Keys don't expire.
- On Zapier: no. On Make: yes.
The trigger that receives AssistCall events is Webhooks > Custom webhook. It works on every plan, including Free, which has 1,000 credits a month. Copy the webhook URL into AssistCall and send a test event so Make learns the data structure. By default, a scenario on a webhook runs as soon as a request arrives. Make accepts up to 300 requests per 10 seconds and switches off webhooks that haven't been attached to a scenario for 5 days. AssistCall's event deliveries can't add custom headers, so leave the API key option off on the webhook that receives events. For live lookups during a call, use a separate webhook: end that scenario with a Webhook response module, save its x-make-apikey in AssistCall's API action if you turn the key on, and keep the scenario short, because the receptionist waits only about 6 seconds.
Not included: no one-click Make app, no listing in Make's marketplace, no two-way sync, and no partnership with Make (part of Celonis).
