Use AssistCall with Microsoft Power Automate

AssistCall answers your business calls 24/7 and works alongside Microsoft Power Automate: forwarded calls get answered, booked or noted, with a summary of every call by email.

Microsoft Power Automate: Microsoft's automation service for Microsoft 365 users. Its cloud flows connect Outlook, Teams, Excel, SharePoint and hundreds of other services.

Works alongside

Example call

A client calls the accounting firm after hours about a tax notice. The receptionist takes a message, and a Power Automate flow posts it in the firm's 'Client calls' channel in Teams with the caller's name, number and what the notice says. A partner sees it in Teams the next morning.

How it connects

About Microsoft Power Automate's API

The trigger that receives AssistCall events is 'When an HTTP request is received', and it is a premium connector. Microsoft's licensing FAQ says users on the free plan or a Microsoft 365 license can only use standard connectors. The flow owner therefore needs Power Automate Premium ($15 per user a month, billed yearly), or the flow needs a Process license ($150 a month, billed yearly). New flows default to 'Any user in my tenant'. Switch to 'Anyone' so AssistCall can post to the flow, and treat the URL like a password (the key can be regenerated). Paste a sample AssistCall event into 'Use sample payload to generate schema' so its fields can be mapped. Without a Response action, the trigger answers 202 straight away, which AssistCall counts as delivered. After that, standard actions such as posting in Teams, adding a row to an Excel table or sending an Outlook email work as normal.

Not included: no one-click Microsoft Power Automate app, no listing in Microsoft Power Automate's marketplace, no two-way sync, and no partnership with Microsoft Corporation.
